The property is a commercial office mainly used by the owner for meetings and official business. As the client is accustomed to a professional setting with elegance, our design concept mainly revolved around what we coined as “tranquil luxury”. Design We decided to create an accent wall completely made out of tiles to be the showcase for the office. Not only does it create a visual art piece, it is also a symbol of luxury which resonates with the client. As for the office furniture and finishing, we used the most expensive material to further emphasise on this sense of luxury. Theme The owner of this project has a unique taste for luxury and therefore we want to express this in her office. To do this, we created a peaceful yet luxurious ambience that brings serenity to a whole different level. The objective was for everyone who walked into the office to immediately feel peace and at home. Material We used the latest microcement technology for the materials to create a seamless design that flows throughout the office. In addition, we opted for lighting that is not commonly used so as to have a more sophisticated feel. It was a challenge sourcing for these lights but the effect was worth it. Customisation The office is often used by the owner to host business partners and guests with intimate get-together sessions. To facilitate this, we designed a tea and wine island, which the client appreciates as it is an extension of her favourite things. We made sure wires and clutter were kept out of slight with smart space and storage planning while each chair was design to accommodate the owner’s physical traits. Status The work will be completed in 2022. So far, it has won an award in Malaysia and gold for the MUSE Design Award. We also entered it for the Shanghai Interior Design Competition and A Design Award, where results are still pending. We were also covered exclusively in Malaysia's No. 1 luxury magazine "NOBLE MAGAZINE".
